Year 4 Art Workshop at Ramsey
On Tuesday afternoon a group of Year 4's visited Ramsey Secondary School in Halstead to take part in an Art activity. They were so well behaved and polite, we are very proud of them all. Each of them explored and created two types of mono printing techniques (meaning you can only make one). Firstly, they used a roller to spread out the paint thinly. The next step was to gently lay paper on top of the paint and draw over the tree picture. Then, they could lift up their page to see a beautiful tree scene which they added leaves to by painting bubble wrap green and yellow and pressing the texture onto the page.
For the second printing method, the children spread paint onto their boards again but this time scratched/wiped off the paint using a pencil (and even the rubber end!) to create a lovely landscape of their choice. Paper was put over the paint and they pressed hard to print the picture onto the paper.
A huge thanks to Ramsey for organising the session and transporting us!
Half of our Year 4 have attended a workshop at Ramsey this year and the rest will before the end of term!
